Over the years, Splendacrest has been fortunate in obtaining a few very special horses.  These horses are part of our family, and are not for sale, however they are ridden regularly by our Splendacrest Team riders and our International Visitors.  Let us tell you a little more about these special horses.....

LILONDA COUNT RICHAEL     ("RICKY")

"Ricky" is a 16-year-old bay purebred gelding, 15.1hh, with 4 white socks and a blaze.  He had been in training at Splendacrest for a couple of years, and when the opportunity to purchase this horse came up, we jumped at the chance!  Ricky is a very loving and kind horse, with a never-say-die attitude, and a friendly nature.  He has been quite a successful competitor, and is in his seventh season of endurance.  His ride record to date is as follows:

ARATAHNES GALAXY    ("CHEVY")    

Chevy is a 12 year old chestnut partbred gelding, 15.3hh.  He is a really safe horse to ride, and takes care of his rider at all times, although he is certainly willing to put the speed on when asked.  This horse holds a special place in the hearts of all of us here.  Chevy's ride record to date is as follows:

MT EERWAH SILVER MARINER    ("PETE")

Pete is a 12 year old grey purebred gelding, 15.1hh.  He is very reliable and easy to ride, although he does have a huge trot!  Pete is a real sweetheart of a horse, and everyone who rides him falls in love with his gentle nature and his funny ways.

Splendacrest Endurance Training owns several other horses that are just starting their endurance careers in 2008.  These horses will be available for sale or lease once they have completed at least one 80km ride.   Some of these horses are:

SPLENDACREST VERITY

Verity is a bay rising 6 year old Standardbred/Arab cross mare, 15hh, with four pretty socks and a blaze.  Verity is a 'easy keeper', and is also very quiet and reliable to ride.  She will commence her endurance career soon.

SPLENDACREST ZHATEAU

Zhateau is a grey 5 year old Anglo filly, 14.1hh.  She was orphaned at 3 weeks of age, and has a lovely friendly nature.  Zhateau will be a very competitive prospect for my junior riders once she starts her career.

SPLENDACREST TUMBLEWEED

Tumbleweed is a chestnut rising 5 year old purebred Arabian gelding, 15.2hh, with two socks and a blaze.  He has a lovely friendly nature, and is a big strong horse.

SPLENDACREST YMIGRE

Ymigre is a grey partbred gelding, rising 5 years, 15.1hh.  He is a big strong boy, with lots of attitude.
